Sunday - Scenic Bike Ride
On Saturday, May 1st, bicyclist will be on their way to Tallahassee for the 10th Annual Law Enforcement Memorial Service. On Sunday, May 2nd, the bicyclist will complete that trip.
At Edgewater Venue, after the Christening of the Bikes, anyone interested in participating in this ride will gather behind the stage at the ‘old movie theater’ and ride to the Panama City Mall to meet up with other bikers to ride the back roads to Tallahassee, Capitol Circle to participate, with the bicyclist, in the Law Enforcement Memorial. KSU approximately 11 am.
History of Event
The Law Enforcement Bike Ride was established in Bay County, FL. In 2001 to raise money for the immediate assistance to the families of officers seriously injured or killed in the line-of-duty. An off-duty death or serious off-duty injury is no less traumatic to the families of those officers.
The memorial Bike Ride was also established to bring opportunity awareness to honor those officers who gave their lives the previous year protecting us. This is done by placing the names of the fallen officers on Afghans, t-shirts, and riding 100 miles on bicycles (and motorcycles) from Panama City, FL to Tallahassee. (This is an extension of the Kevin Kight Parade)
Donations will be accepted, but not mandatory.
