Thunder Beach Hits Daytona

In our never ending search for great vendors/sponsors as well as spreading the word to riders around the country, we took a trip to Daytona for the granddaddy of Rally's, Bike Week 2008. Although it was quite a bit slower than expected, the overall vibe was a positive. One of the highlights of our week was the Baker Drivetrain Fusion Party right on Main Street. This killer VIP Party had some of the most prominent (and infamous) builders in the industry displaying bikes that made your jaw hit the floor! Meeting so many of the guys we have followed through the industry pubs over the years was a great experience. Longtime Thunder Beach Attendee Vince Doll and the rest of the crew from Redneck Engineering were on hand as well other builders such as Billy Lane, Paul Cox, Russell Mitchell, Marlowe B, Kim Suter, Eddie Trotta, Cyril Huze, and Russell Marlowe . It was all put together by the guys at Baker, Sucker Punch Sally's Old School Choppers and other sponsors to raise $10,000 for our guys in Iraq. We won't even get into the Bikini Contest full of absolute ringers!

We spent most of our days perusing the array of vendors spread out all across Daytona. Is it me or does it take 45 minutes to go anywhere?! Anyway, our time at the Racetrack was great as we hung out with the folks from Baker, Allstate, Pace Trailers, Vince & the fellas at Redneck Eng., Boss Hoss, Jaybrake, Performance Machine, Arnott Air Ride , J&P Cycles and too many more than I have room for!

Congrats to Bert at Baker on his Ten Year Baker Drive Train Anniversary as well as it was throwing a great party in the rain at Broken Spoke on Thursday night.

Also a big "Hello" to our friends from The Buffalo Chip in Sturgis, Woody and Toni as well as Darla and Doug from Kids & Chrome and The Legends Ride. It was great seeing all of you again and hope to see you on our beaches in May!
